Golf pro nabs Jupiter mansion with its own putting green for $12M
The Real Deal by Sean Stewart-Muniz
If Rickie Fowler wants to get some morning golf practice in, he won’t have to travel further than his backyard.
A trust in the name of the 27-year-old Florida golf pro just paid $12.55 million to buy a vast waterfront estate just north of Jupiter from real estate investor Christian Demers.
County records show Fowler, now owns the newly built five-bedroom, 10-bathroom mansion fronting the Loxahatchee River at 5215 Pennock Point Road. With 11,624 square feet of interior living space, the price breaks down to just under $1,080 per foot.
The modern-style home boasts an array of plush finishes like floor-to-ceiling windows, a waterfront pool with a tanning deck, an elevator for its two stories and a six-car garage. But its most standout feature, especially in a town like Jupiter that’s known for its golfers, is a private putting green on the home’s 2.7-acre grounds.
No listing information is available for the home, so this deal appears to be off-market. Demers bought the property for $2.5 million in 2012, which then housed a smaller 7,658-square-foot home. He demolished the existing property and began construction of his new mega-mansion not long afterward.
Fowler financed his purchase with a $10 million mortgage from Morgan Stanley Private Bank. The deal is a major trade-up for Fowler, whose previous Jupiter home at 5901 Whitetail Lane housed only 4,606 square feet. It’s currently on the market for $2.85 million.
Even at $12.55 million, Fowler’s new digs come in at a hefty discount to the $55 million golfer Greg Norman wants for his 26,000-square-foot Jupiter Island estate.
