Studio Gang Architects To Design Condos for Design District
Curbed Miami
by Sean McCaughan
One of the current hot mammas of the architecture world, celebrated starchitect Jeanne Gang, who is most well known for a Chicago tower called Aqua that already looks like it belongs in Miami, is designing a condo building for the Design District. Developer Craig Robins has hired Studio Gang Architects for the project on a NE 1st Avenue site between 39th and 40th Streets where he previously planned to build a hotel. The project is already “deep in the design process” says Robins. Meanwhile Mizz Gang was recently the subject ofan absolutely fascinating profile in the New Yorker.
In other news from the new Design District, architects Neri & Hu are designing a neighboring building to the north of Gang’s and Johnston Marklee is doing the building that will terminate the northern end of the Design District’s main pedestrian thoroughfare, the Paseo Ponti.
