Coined “The Magic City” due to its rapid growth in population, the city of Miami boasts a hybrid of cultural backgrounds, miles of beach and clear blue water, lavish hotels and flashy cars. But, tucked away from the glitz and glam of South Beach, over the causeways, sits the Miami Design District – an area bursting at the seams with international art, design showrooms, luxury retail, top restaurants and more.

The entire area has gone through a drastic reformation, and properties have been converted into retail and gallery spaces. After years of being an area that was not frequented by many locals, the Miami Design District has become a premiere destination for art, design and luxury fashion.

From Cartier to Rolex to Christian Louboutin, retail is expanding and transforming the Design District into a luxury shopping destination. Roughly 50 new stores will open this year including the 10th U.S. Roberto Coin Fine Jewelry boutique in North America. Since 1977, the Venetian jewelry designer has devoted his life to a passion for innovative design, defining the Miami Design District as the ideal location to showcase Coin’s inspiration and artisanal styles.

Each boutique along the streets of the Miami Design District are individualistic in their styles and décor. Roberto Coin’s boutique will echo the designer’s Italian culture as well as take on characteristics of one of his latest debuts: the powerfully elegant Pois Moi collection. The Pois Moi collection has an ultra-modern design with a touch of vintage taste perfectly matching the city of Miami: young and modern in age, yet rich in history and culture.

Sharing the breezeway with Michael’s Genuine (currently Miami’s hottest restaurant), the boutique opening comes just in time for Spring as well as the area’s highly anticipated transformation. Amongst other premier retailers, opening within the Miami Design District boutique ultimately allows Roberto Coin to reach a market driven by design, art and culture – much like himself.
