Virtual Reality Redefines Pre-Construction Sales
Sales directors at high end condominium projects often find themselves having to grapple with a tough scenario: selling units for a project that does not yet exist. Considering that some projects like the Sky Villas at Jade Signature in Sunny Isles Beach can cost tens of millions of dollars, it’s imperative to find ways to justify the asking price.
Enter virtual reality.
Virtual reality has been making lots of headlines lately, particularly with the newly released Oculus Rift VR headset and its upcoming rival the HTC Vive set for release on April 5th. In an effort to fuse real estate technology with luxury, the technology is making it much easier for buyers to get a glimpse of their dream home.
With virtual reality, a flat picture turns into an experience where one can not only see what an apartment will look like, it allows a prospective buyer to also tour the property and get a feel for it too. With these devices like Oculus Rift or the Samsung Gear VR, a buyer can take stroll through the living room, check out the upstairs area, all without the project actually existing. Considering that pre-construction projects often grab the attention of foreign buyers that may have limited time, it’s an incredibly effective tool where a developer could potentially create virtual reality renderings of each unit in a building if they wanted to.
