Santa’s Enchanted Forest

Miami isn’t known as the most Christmasy of places, although it is where many flock to escape the blistering cold that many unfortunate souls in more northern climes have to deal with. For every pair of long underwear, there’s a g-string bikini just waiting to be worn. Anyways, without snow to play in, here are some local Christmas light displays to get that holiday fix you’re so sorely missing.

 

Holiday Fantasy of Lights At Tradewinds Park
Now through January 5th, 3 miles of giant animated light displays and decorated trees will line the roads of Tradewinds Park for the 18th annual “Holiday Fantasy of Lights Display”. Optional 3D glasses pump up the action.

Santa’s Enchanted Forest at Tropical Park
One would think the world’s largest Christmas theme park, Santa’s Enchanted Forest, would be somewhere colder so visitors could have some magical snowy moments. But nope, it’s here in South Florida, where trees don’t even shed their leaves, and it’s open every night until January 6th.

Zoo Lights At Zoo Miami
ZooMiami (which we will always fondly remember by its old name ‘Miami MetroZoo’) is doing their annual animal themed nighttime light thing, with ‘animal shaped lights’, 3D glasses, dinner with Mrs. Claus, and something about ice skating hippos.

Jeff Ostroff’s House
He’s a dude with a hobby, and really big FPL bill. Jeff Ostroff decks out his house every year in Christmas lights galore, themed props, and other frippery. New this year: A backlit Big Ben.

Enchanted Place
The cul-de-sac on NE 137th Terrace in North Miami known as Enchanted Place decks itself out every year with holiday lights galore, with donations accepted to benefit CARE Resources.
