Wynwood Is Getting Awesome Artist-Designed Crosswalks
Curbed Miami
by Sean McCaughan
The intersection of Northwest 2nd Avenue and 25th Street, in the center of Wynwood, will soon have a colorful crosswalk designed by kinetic artist Carlos Cruz-Diez, Curbed has learned from somebody involved with the project. It’s the first of many artist-designed crosswalks planned for Wynwood by the Miami Biennale which will collectively be called the Wynwood Ways. This first crosswalk, which will be in front of the late developer Tony Goldman’s Wynwood Walls ‘outdoor street art museum’ will be dedicated to Goldman. It’s a rather nice monument to one of Wynwood’s founding fathers, and a snazzy way to cross the street.
